Despite art taking a back seat while raising her five children, Blanche knew in first grade that she was destined to become an artist. She grew up in Gillette, Wyoming which is where she lives and creates to this day.
As a self-taught artist, she considers her artwork to be a voice to reflect her experiences and surroundings. Family, traditions, and that sense of belonging are depicted throughout her work as she uses bold brushstrokes in oils to create still-life paintings that inspire a universal feeling of nostalgia.
"I hope that my images might connect us; in the personal beginnings of selected objects, there is something universal in the stories and memories they evoke. Using bold brushstrokes, I bring nostalgic objects to new life by pulling and drawing out unexpected colors that grab the attention of the viewer." ~Blanche
