"Backfire" 6"x6", Oil $75 Today is the first day of the challenge... soooo, of course I hurried through this piece.... I may go in and work on it more later. If you do not know my family, let me give you a little insight on the origami inspiration. My boys (I have 4 boys and one girl) love, love, love to fold paper. For many years, I have found random folded paper cranes, flowers, dragons, roses, and airplanes... oooh my goodness the airplanes!!! I have saved a good amount of them over the years, and find it very pleasing to try to recreate the paper look with oils. My boys do not like that I have wrinkled up the noses on some of them to create a more interesting painting, because of course, NONE of their creations would EVER nosedive like that. I have painted several versions of the airplane and crane, and I thought I would kick off the challenge with something familiar... we will see what tomorrow brings!
