"In the Moment"
We did it!!! We made it through another week. . . and you deserve to spend time with loved ones, experience something fun or new, or catch up on much needed rest. I think that i will be experiencing all of the above this weekend!
"In the Moment" is available in my online store
A little reflecting as I am painting, painting, painting for an upcoming show . . .
In 2011 I had a gallery show at the CAM-PLEX Heritage Center Gallery with my talented friend Nancy Brown. We each painted our own take on the same image. My approach was realism, and Nancy took the more abstract road. . . with the exception of one image, as you can see in the bottom photo. I cannot believe that this show was 6 years ago already!!!
I will be showing in this same gallery in Oct-Nov of this Year with my husband. . . we will see if Oil and Metal mixes!
My style has definitely evolved over the years. . . a few times even! Does it bother you when you see the canvas peeking out? Do you prefer clean blended lines? I am in awe of all those Alla Prima painters that make it look so effortless and clean. . . and I think that I am continuing to try to loosen up and show those brushstrokes.
I now have pieces (including this one!) and greeting cards available at the newly relocated Sage Community Arts Center in Sheridan, WY. If you have not seen their new digs, I highly recommend a visit. . . you will not be disappointed!
These old cameras sure have been fun to paint! And I am enjoying pushing the color palette beyond what I see sitting in front of me. This little camera is super fun because when you open the top flap the light shines brightly through the top lens. . . we all need that little bright spot to shine into our days.
I keep meaning to have a blog... it will most likely get neglected... Hang in there people,.. I am trying!
